When comparing this course to those offered by others, please note that all fees for shooting range, firearm use, ammunition, and safety equipment use are included.  Courses offered by others frequently include additional charges, especially for the range and ammunition.  Also, for your safety and confidence, all skills will be practiced in a simulation environment prior to practice at a shooting range.

Course Overview:

NRA FIRST Steps Rifle is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and proper orientation to one specific rifle action type for classes of four or fewer students. This course is at least three hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot a specific rifle action type.

Length of Course:

3 Hours – Longer if needed to achieve learning objectives.

Specific Lessons Covered:

1. Introduction to Rifle Safety, Parts, and Operation.
2. Introduction to the Fundamentals of Rifle Shooting.
3. Introduction to Rifle Cleaning, Storage, and Training Opportunities.
4. Introduction to Rifle Shooting from the Benchrest Position.

Notes:

1. This is an NRA Course and will result in an NRA Certificate.
2. The range fees are included in the cost for this class.  For the shooting range, appropriate firearms, ammunition, hearing protection, and eye protection will be provided at no cost.  You are also welcome to use your own firearm(s), ammunition, and safety equipment.
3. Classroom/Simulation portion can be held at our office or your home. (Additional fee if outside Dallas, Collin, or Rockwall counties)
4. Shooting range will vary depending on course location.
5. Class can easily be completed in one day or split into two days.
6. NRA Hardcover Book – Basics of Rifle Shooting provided.
