Description
Purchasing this service will allow Magic Firearms to receive a firearm on your behalf from another party, including companies and individuals. Once purchased, if needed, we will send a copy of our Federal Firearms License to the other party so they can legally ship the firearm to us. Once we receive it, we will notify you that the firearm is available for pickup by sending a text message to the phone number listed on the paperwork. You will have 5 days from the date of notification to complete the transfer or make other arrangements. As long as you let us know, we are happy to store your gun in our insured, climate-controlled off-site storage for as long as you need. There are no storage fees.
Do I need an LTP (License To Purchase) or a CPL (Concealed Pistol License)?
I recommend that everyone get a CPL, but you do not need one.
For a Pistol, you need one or the other. If you don’t have a CPL, you need an LTP from your local police department.
For a non-Pistol (Rifle, Shotgun, Frame, Lower receiver, etc.) You do not need a CPL or LTP, but having a CPL will bypass the NICS check and shorten the transaction time.
By purchasing this service, you are agreeing to the following:
- You are legally allowed to purchase the firearm under state and federal law.
- You will complete the appropriate application (ATF Form 4473) and, if needed, pass the required FBI (NICS) background check. No firearms will be transferred without a required background check.
- If, for any reason, the transaction cannot be completed within five days of notification and other arrangements have not been made, the firearm can be returned to the sender, and the fee you paid will be applied to shipping costs. You are liable for any excess shipping fees paid.
- If, for any reason, the transaction cannot be completed within five days, you have not made arrangements with us, and the firearm cannot be returned, you consent to allowing us to sell the firearm on your behalf, and you will be given the net proceeds minus 10% of the sale price.
- All firearms will be picked up, and all paperwork will be completed at my residence in Farmington Hills. It is my licensed “premises” and therefore the only place I can legally conduct business.
- All transfers are by appointment only. Use the link at the top to schedule your appointment. If none of the dates/times work, please contact me so we can make other arrangements.
- By choosing to pick up at my residence, you waive any liability claims, including, but not limited to, trip-and-fall hazards caused by steps, ice, etc.
If any of the above are not acceptable, I can return your firearm, and you can choose another FFL.
Note: In general, firearms are picked up once a day from a remote location, and we try to log them in and do notifications as quickly as possible. Some customers may be notified the same day it is received. You will usually receive a notification the next business day after your firearm is received, and you can schedule an appointment for the following day. Sometimes there are delays between receipt and notification. In a worst-case scenario, you may be notified that your firearm is available for pickup a couple of days after it was received at our remote facility. If it has been a couple of business days since you received delivery confirmation and you have not heard from us, please text or call us at 248-893-9701. Sometimes the remote facility does not notify us properly that your item has arrived.
Worst Case Examples:
- Let’s say your firearm is received at our remote location on Friday, and they notify us that it is available Friday Afternoon. Your firearm may not be picked up until Monday. If the Monday pickup is in the late afternoon, it may be logged in and notifications sent on Tuesday.
- Let’s say your firearm arrives at our remote location on Monday at 1 PM, but we already completed our daily pickup at noon. Then, on Tuesday, your firearm is picked up at 6 PM. We may not process it and send notifications until Wednesday.
- I get slammed at the job that pays my mortgage and have to put in a couple of 12-hour days, so I can’t make it to pick up the firearm…etc.
